Heat cancels Naperville Park District ribbon-cutting ceremony

Due to the extreme heat, the Naperville Park District has canceled a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a renovated playground.

The ceremony at the Frontier Sports Complex was planned for 5 p.m. Tuesday with a backup date of Wednesday. But park district officials decided to cancel the event and not reschedule because the heat and humidity is expected to continue.

A ceremony to celebrate renovations at Kingshill Park will take place at 5 p.m. next Tuesday. The public can enjoy refreshments and giveaways and enjoy the new playground equipment.

If next week's ceremony needs to be canceled due to inclement weather, it will be held at the same time on the next day. Residents can check on closures and cancellations at napervilleparks.org/cancellations.
