Palatine blood drive to mark World Blood Donor Day set for June 14

State Rep. Tom Morrison is teaming up with Vitalant to host a blood drive Tuesday, June 14, in the Patriot Room of Palatine Township Hall, 721 S. Quentin Road, in Palatine.

The event will help mark World Blood Donor Day, a day to raise global awareness of the need for safe blood and blood products for transfusion and of the critical contribution that voluntary, unpaid blood donors make to national health systems.

Donations are by appointment only, between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Appointments can be made at https://tinyurl.com/5ap4m6df.

Donations to the Palatine Food Pantry also will be accepted during the event.

"I can't emphasize enough the impact blood donors make for those in need," Morrison, a Republican from Palatine, said in an announcement of the blood drive. "A quick, easy donation at an event such as this saves lives, plain and simple."

For more information, call Morrison's office at (847) 202-6584.
