Q: How well did the Illinois government respond to the COVID-19 crisis? What do you think should be done differently?
It responded horribly, I would have never locked down/ shut down our economy in the state. nor would I have closed our schools.
The economy in the state has tanked, businesses have closed their doors, and schools have been forced to shutter. It's a disaster.
And it's all thanks to the governor's decision to lock down and shut down our economy in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
Q: What are the most important components that should be included in legislative ethics reform? What will you do to help them come to pass?
Lobbying reforms such as a two year "revolving door" restriction, which provides a "cooling off" period before former legislators can begin lobbying their peers in the General Assembly
Q: What should the state do to address the still-growing problems with its key pension programs?
The dod recently restructured their pension system. we need to as least follow and make a new system for those coming in now.
Q: Describe at least two circumstances in which you have shown or would show a willingness to act independently of the direction or demands of party leadership.
Im not a law maker yet. But I would and did speak out against COVID "mitigations"
Q: What should lawmakers be doing to stem out-migration from Illinois?
Job/ our economy is horrible. If we cant give people great employment opportunities then why would they want to stay in Illinois. If you want to grow the state then create an environment for businesses to thrive.
The problem with our economy is that it's difficult for businesses to thrive. The high taxes and regulations make it hard for businesses to expand and create new jobs. This hurts Illinois residents because it means there are fewer job opportunities available. We need to make Illinois a place for business to thrive then more better-paying jobs will be here and more people will want to stay.
Q: Do you believe climate change is caused by human activity? What steps should government be taking to address the issue?
Yes.
Q: The graduated income tax is designed with the intent to reduce taxes for 97 percent of Illinoisans. Do you believe that will happen? Why or why not? What assurances can you offer voters?
I believe all tax increases are bad for all people of Illinois. I will oppose all tax increase.
