Lake County seeking input on Washington Street bike path plan

The Lake County Division of Transportation is seeking public input regarding construction of a 1.4-mile multiuse path on Washington Street in Gurnee, Third Lake and an unincorporated area.

LCDOT is studying nonmotorized improvements along a stretch of Washington Street, including a new path on either the north or south side from Mainsail Drive to Almond Road, and a new sidewalk on the north side from Sextant Drive to Mainsail Drive.

Closing this 1.4-mile gap will provide nearly seven miles of continuous bike network along Washington Street from Round Lake to Gurnee and connect to many key destinations, officials say.
