Bail set for woman accused of stealing more than $1,200 in clothes from Nordstrom

Bail was set at $20,000 Wednesday for a woman accused of stealing more than $1,200 in clothing from the Nordstrom store in Oak Brook and fleeing police Tuesday.

Asia Spann, 30, of the 3000 block of Polly Lane in Flossmoor, is charged with two counts of felony retail theft and two counts of aggravated fleeing and eluding, according to the DuPage County state's attorney's office.

Spann would have to pay $2,000 to be released pending trial.

Authorities say Spann stole the clothes from Nordstrom around 6:15 p.m. Tuesday and drove away in a Mazda SUV. Police tried to pull her over, but Spann sped away at 65 miles per hour in a 35-mph zone, the news release said.

Spann ultimately left her car to flee on foot and was captured, the news release said.

Her next court appearance is scheduled for July 13.
