Drop by the St. Charles library to see if you have unclaimed cash

Stop by the St. Charles Public Library on May 25 to see if there's any cash or other property out there that may belong to you.

State Sen. Don DeWitte, a St. Charles Republican, is hosting the free event to help pair residents find any unclaimed property that could belong to them. The event will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Huntley Community Room at the St. Charles Public Library, 1 S. 6th Ave.

Representatives from the state treasurer's office will be on hand to assist residents. According to officials, about one in four people who search the office's ICash database discovery property or cash that belongs to them.

"A few minutes of your time could reap large rewards at this event," DeWitte said.
