Blood drive Sunday in Elgin to honor well-known rabbi

Congregation Kneseth Israel will hold a blood drive Sunday in Elgin to honor Rabbi Margaret Frisch Klein.

Frisch Klein, according to a release, has recently received a bone-marrow transplant for multiple myeloma and, as part of the bone marrow transplant process, required some blood and platelets.

"Please help us pay tribute to Rabbi Margaret by participating in our May 15 blood drive," the release read.

The drive will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the social hall of Congregation Kneseth Israel, 330 Division St., Elgin.

Donors can walk in, but appointments can be made by visiting bit.ly/RabbiMargaret or calling (800) 7TO-GIVE.
