Wood Dale house fire displaces residents

The residents of a house in Wood Dale were displaced by a fire Monday evening that investigators say caused an estimated $100,000 in damage.

Wood Dale Fire Protection District officials said they were alerted to the fire on the 400 block of Deerpath Road at 8:45 p.m.

Firefighters encountered a blaze in one of the home's bedrooms, fire officials said. It was extinguished within 15 minutes.

No injuries were reported. The residents were alerted to the fire by activated smoke detectors, officials said.

The home was deemed uninhabitable. The cause remains under investigation.
