Glen Ellyn Historical Society to celebrate Nancy Drew

The Glen Ellyn Historical Society will put on a detective's hat for "The Mystery of Nancy Drew," a presentation about the plucky fictional sleuth Saturday.

Lifelong Nancy Drew reader and fan Susan Becker will describe the origin of the mystery series and how the beloved books were adapted for movies and television. The first book in the series by Carolyn Keene was published in 1930.

Becker's program will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 14, at the Glen Ellyn History Center, 800 N. Main St.

The event is sponsored by Priscilla and Jarold Anderson. Admission is free. Refreshments will be served. For details, visit gehs.org.
