Hoffman Estates police investigating early Friday carjacking

Hoffman Estates police are investigating a carjacking that occurred early Friday morning on West Golf Road.

Officers responded at 3:18 a.m. to a report of a stolen vehicle on the 1100 block of West Golf Road.

The victim reported an armed man had ordered him out of his vehicle, got in himself and drove away. The victim was not injured.

Hoffman Estates police were advised about 5 a.m. that the stolen vehicle had been spotted in the area of Route 59 and Interstate 88.

Officers tried to make contact with the vehicle, which fled the area. No arrests have been made yet.

Police said they are not releasing any further details at this point in their investigation.
