Naperville's Centennial Beach opening Memorial Day weekend

The Naperville Park District has begun filling Centennial Beach with fresh water in anticipation of opening for the season Memorial Day weekend.

Located at 5 W. Jackson Ave. in downtown Naperville, Centennial Beach will be open through Sept. 5. It'll have zero-depth entry, a slide, deep-water and lap-swim areas, and space for relaxing and picnicking.

There is a full schedule of aquatics programs planned, including swim lessons, fitness classes, beach yoga, paddleboard yoga, water polo instruction and springboard diving instruction, in addition to hosting the Mudrats Swim Team and Water Polo Team.

Special Needs Nights are returning Sunday evenings on June 12 and 26, and July 17 and 24, giving families with individuals who have special needs time to enjoy the site after regular operating hours.

Centennial Beach memberships are available at www.centennialbeach.org. Memberships purchased before May 30 will receive a discounted rate. Membership benefits include early entry on weekdays, coupons for Park District amenities, a 10% discount at Centennial Grill and two guest passes.
