Naperville girl finishes third in national drive, chip and putt competition

Naperville's Lisa Copeland placed third in the Drive, Chip and Putt National Finals at Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia.

Copeland competed in the girls' 12-to-13 age group during the event that took place on Monday.

Conducted in partnership with the Masters Tournament, USGA and PGA of America, the competition is a free youth development program for boys and girls in four age groups from 7 to 15. Tens of thousands of golfers participated last summer in more than 300 local qualifying events in all 50 states.

Eighty regional winners across the four age groups earned a trip to Augusta. Points were awarded in each of the three skill categories, and the golfer with the highest overall point total was declared the winner.
