District 304 hires firm for superintendent search

Geneva Unit District 304 school board members have agreed to hire an Iowa-based consultant to handle the district's search for a new superintendent.

Board members on Monday approved a contract with Ray and Associates for a cost of $18,000. The board, which started interviewing firms in February, selected its final choice from four firms.

In a January letter, Superintendent Ken Mutchler told board members he plans to retire at the end of the 2022-23 school year. Mutchler has been the superintendent since 2006.
