Mayslake Peabody Estate hosts nature-inspired art exhibit

The Mayslake Peabody Estate in Oak Brook will display artwork by DuPage County Forest Preserve District employees and volunteers through the end of April.

"Hidden Creativity: Nature Through the Eyes of District Staff and Volunteers" will be the final art exhibit hosted at Mayslake before the historic mansion closes for a yearlong exterior renovation project slated to start May 31.

The surrounding forest preserve and off-leash dog area will remain open during the project.

Forest preserve employees and volunteers will share their nature-inspired paintings, drawings, photography, sculptures, fabric and textiles and 3D printing. Contributing artists include volunteers Ratindra Das, Conrad Fialkowski, Denis Kania, Katherine Howard and Marian Pezdak.

The exhibit is free, and its hours are noon to 3 p.m. Mondays-Fridays and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays. A reception will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. April 11.
