Mount Prospect District 57 launching Citizen Finance Advisory Committee

Mount Prospect Elementary School District 57 is launching a Citizen Finance Advisory Committee to provide

input to school board members as they make financial decisions for the district.

The committee will be made up of District 57 stakeholders, such school parents, residents who do not have children in the schools and staff members. Community members can apply by filling out the interest form at https://www.d57.org/Finance.aspx.

Jason Kaiz, this district's assistant superintendent of finance and operations, said the group will launch this spring and continue throughout next school year, playing a key role in the important financial projection process. The committee will start by learning the basics of school finance, then in the fall will begin looking at projections for the next five years.

Kaiz says the goal will be to present projections to the board in January 2023.

Potential committee members are asked to fill out the interest form by March 15. Questions can be directed to Kaiz at jkaiz@d57.org or (847) 394-7300, ext. 1003.
