Barn severely damaged in Lake Villa fire

The Lake Villa Fire Protection District responded to a large structure fire Monday at a barn in the 23900 block of West Petite Lake Road.

The fire was reported at 4:57 p.m. on Monday, according to the district.

The barn was already fully involved when firefighters arrived at the scene, authorities said.

No one was injured, but the district said that some chickens were killed in the blaze.

The barn itself was severely damaged.

Authorities said firefighters were on the scene until 9 p.m. Monday night.

Twenty different vehicles from eight different fire departments assisted in controlling the fire.

A cause for the fire was not given.
