Fire truck tips over after crash in Palatine

A Palatine fire truck rolled on its side following a collision with a minivan Thursday morning.

One firefighter and one civilian were hurt in the crash and taken to a hospital, police said. The injuries weren't serious.

The crash occurred just after 9:30 a.m. at Quentin and Palatine roads, Palatine police Cmdr. Jason Watson said.

The intersection was closed for hours as police investigated the collision. It reopened midafternoon.

Questions to fire department officials about the accident were referred to police.
