Huntley library closure extended two weeks

The Huntley Area Public Library has pushed back its reopening date two weeks to Feb. 7.

The library has been closed since Dec. 31, as part of a two-year building program. The board of trustees elected on Wednesday to delay the reopening from its scheduled Jan. 24 due to a roof problem and supply chain issues that have slowed down the delivery of some equipment and furniture.

During the extended closure, regular library services will not be available, but no fines will accumulate nor will materials be due. Most digital and online services are available.
