COVID-19 vaccination facility to reopen in Des Plaines

Starting Saturday, a former Kmart store in Des Plaines once again will serve as an official COVID-19 vaccination site.

The facility, at 1155 E. Oakton St., will be run by Illinois and Cook County health officials.

It will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sundays.

Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines will be available to anyone age 5 and older. Walk-ins welcome, but appointments are preferred and prioritized.

The vacant store temporarily served as a vaccination site last year.
