Coroner says Naperville woman, Michigan man killed in suspected murder-suicide
The identities of two people killed in a suspected murder and suicide Tuesday in Naperville have been released.
According to the DuPage County coroner, they are Karen Easton, 42, of Naperville and Lynn Easton, 49, of Rives Junction, Michigan.
The coroner stated the preliminary cause of death for Karen Easton was gunshot wounds. For Lynn Easton, the preliminary cause was a gunshot wound in his mouth.
The coroner and Naperville police continue to investigate the case.
Naperville police said the woman was shot by her ex-husband at her apartment. Police responded to the apartment around 7:30 a.m. They believed a person who had a gun was barricaded in the apartment.
When nobody responded to them, they entered and found Lynn Easton's body. They took Karen Easton to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
