No injuries in Bartlett house fire

The Bartlett Fire Department responded to a large structure fire Tuesday at a house in the 100 block Cedarfield Drive.

The fire was reported at 1:48 p.m. Tuesday, according to the department.

Firefighters arriving at the scene could clearly see smoke coming from the garage of the house.

Crews used hand tools to cut through a section of drywall that was hiding the fire.

Once the fire was found, firefighters positioned outside the garage used fire hoses to quell the fire. The blaze was deemed "under control" at 2:11 p.m.

No one was injured, but the home was deemed "uninhabitable," according to the Bartlett Fire Department.

Firefighters continued to ventilate gas and smoke from the house and investigate the scene after the fire was extinguished.

Units from South Elgin, Elgin, Streamwood and Hanover Park assisted on the call.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
