Antioch man arrested on multiple felony drug charges
An 18-year old Antioch man is being held on several felony charges after police said they found a large quantity of drugs in his apartment.
David Bonnes III, of the 500 block of Drom Court, was in the Lake County jail awaiting a court hearing Thursday.
Antioch police said they were called to an apartment on the 500 block of Drom Court about 7:45 p.m. Monday for a complaint of a man yelling and causing a disturbance.
Police said they saw a large quantity of narcotics on a table and on the floor. With the assistance of the Lake County Metropolitan Enforcement Group, a search warrant was secured and executed, according to Antioch police.
Police said they recovered 160 hits of LSD, more than two pounds of psilocybin mushrooms, about a pound of cannabis, an unspecified but "significant" amount of money, and materials suspected of being used for drug packaging and sale.
Bonnes III is charged with two counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver; two counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance; one count of unlawful possession of cannabis with intent to deliver; one count of unlawful possession of cannabis; and disorderly conduct.
All the drug-related charges are felonies, police said. The most serious, possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, is punishable by six to 30 years in prison if he's convicted.
