Buffalo Grove Road improvements nearly complete, all lanes now open

Improvements to Buffalo Grove Road from Route to Aptakisic Road in Buffalo Grove are nearly complete and all lanes of traffic are now open, the Lake County Division of Transportation announced Monday.

Asphalt paving and pavement striping is finished and crews this week plan on completing landscape restoration, removing barricades and other miscellaneous cleanup work, according to LCDOT.

The upgrades are part of a two-year project to improve Buffalo Grove Road from Deerfield Parkway to Route 22 and provide two lanes of travel in each direction, a center median and turn lanes at all major intersections. Crews also connected the bike path gap between Aptakisic Road and Brandywyn Lane, making it easier for residents to walk and bike to local parks, schools and shopping areas.
