Bartlett police have issued a traffic advisory for the village's Merry & Bright Holiday Tree Lighting event, set for 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 3, at Bartlett Park.

North Avenue will be closed between Oak Avenue and North Eastern Avenue from 4:45 p.m. until approximately 8:15 p.m. for the horse-drawn carriage rides through downtown Bartlett.

Vehicles traveling westbound on North Avenue will be detoured northbound or southbound on North Elroy Avenue and westbound on Morse Avenue or East Oneida Avenue. Vehicles traveling eastbound on North Avenue will be detoured northbound on Oak Avenue, eastbound on Morse Avenue, and then southbound on North Elroy Avenue.

Due to the large number of participants, Bartlett police encourage everyone to park in the Metra parking lots near Oneida Avenue and South Eastern Avenue, which offer free parking for the event. Temporary no-parking signs will be posted on several residential streets near the event. Handicap parking will be along Oak Avenue near the gazebo.
