Winter clothing and toy drives to benefit foster children in Elgin area

State Rep. Anna Moeller of Elgin is holding both a winter clothing and toy drive to brighten the holidays for foster children.

Moeller is asking for donations of new or gently used coats, hats, scarves, gloves and boots. While the winter clothing drive runs through the end of December, drop-offs for children age 1 month to 10 years old are asked to be turned in by Dec. 9.

Drop-off locations include Moeller's constituent services office at 164 Division St., Suite 103, Elgin; the Taylor Family Branch YMCA, 50 N. McLean Blvd., Elgin; Elgin city hall, 150 Dexter Court; The Centre of Elgin, 100 Symphony Way, Elgin; and Carpentersville Fire Station #2, 305 Lake Marian Road, Carpentersville.

Moeller also is a partner with Aunt Martha's to collect new toys or gift cards for children in foster care between the age of 1 month and 17 years old.

Donations will be accepted through Dec. 9 at Moeller's office, the Taylor Family Branch YMCA, Elgin city hall and Carpentersville Fire Station #2.
