Community invited to honor an unclaimed veteran on Saturday in St. Charles

The public is invited to a memorial Saturday for a veteran and lifelong St. Charles resident who died without any known family.

Yurs Funeral Home of St. Charles will hold a community visitation from noon to 1 p.m. for Wayne H. Miller. A prayer service will follow at 1 p.m.

Miller was a Vietnam veteran who served in the Army from 1967 until 1972. He died in his home on Nov. 9.

The funeral home, located at 405 E. Main St., is donating its services for the veteran after being contacted by the Kane County coroner, who found no family to claim him.
