A man armed with a handgun stole $400 from someone else through an electronic transfer Sunday near Rivers Casino in Des Plaines, police said.

The theft occurred about 3 a.m. in a parking garage on the 2900 block of South River Road.

The gunman and the victim had met inside the casino, and one had agreed to give the other $400 after receiving that amount via an electronic transfer, police said. After the transfer was made, however, the suspected thief refused to turn over the cash then left in a white Volkswagen.
