Cortland's Garage canopy hearing in Arlington Heights canceled

A scheduled Arlington Heights plan commission hearing about a proposed canopy enclosure at Cortland's Garage has been canceled.

The bar/restaurant's owner requested the delay, amid plans already in limbo stemming from a dispute over building and zoning definitions between the owner and village officials.

The advisory plan commission on Wednesday was set to discuss a request for approval of a special use permit amendment and planned unit development to allow construction of a fabric structure over a portion of the business' outdoor patio. But the matter already got a cold reception from Mayor Tom Hayes during the Nov. 1 village board meeting, and the design commission recommended denial of the project the week before.

A future hearing date for the project hasn't yet been determined, village officials said.
