Police: Chicago carjacking suspect tried again in Aurora

A suspect in a Chicago carjacking tried to commit the same crime Tuesday afternoon in Aurora, authorities said.

Aurora police said the investigation is ongoing and wouldn't identify the man who was arrested.

About 12:45 p.m. Tuesday, Aurora police were notified a Porsche SUV had been carjacked in Chicago and was now potentially on the west side of Aurora near I-88 and Orchard Road. Police said the SUV's owner was tracking its location through an iPhone, which was still inside the car.

Police soon located the SUV, unoccupied, in a parking lot on the 1400 block of Orchard Road.

As police approached, they saw a man running away. Authorities said the man then unsuccessfully tried to carjack another vehicle outside the Chipotle on 1500 block of Orchard Road.

The suspect was captured a few blocks away.
