History museum to auction unique Elgin experiences

The Elgin History Museum will hold an online auction of unique Elgin experiences starting Wednesday.

The auction takes the place of their annual fundraising gala and features one-of-a-kind experiences, including a tour of Wing Mansion with owners Steve Thoren and Maureen McWaid, a walking tour almost anywhere in Elgin with historian Jerry Turnquist, and a tour of Dennis and Laurie Roxworthy's vintage toy and bicycle collection.

The auction begins at 8 a.m. Wednesday and ends at 7:15 p.m. Saturday. The museum's 2021 Zoom Gala will take place at 7 p.m. Saturday, and auction winners will be announced live at 7:30 p.m. Registration for the Zoom link is available on the museum website.

All proceeds from the evening's activities go to the museum.
