The village of Carol Stream is offering booster shots of Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine at an event held in partnership with the park district and Jewel-Osco.

Eligible groups can sign up online for appointments at the Fountain View Recreation Center from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Oct. 27. Bring a photo ID, insurance card and vaccination card to the appointment.

Those eligible for the third Pfizer shot include people 65 and older; residents of long-term care facilities; those ages 18-64 with underlying medical conditions; and adults who work or live in settings that put them at high risk of COVID-19 exposure or transmission.

The booster recommendations only apply to individuals who completed the two-shot series of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine at least 6 months ago. Individuals who received Moderna or Johnson & Johnson vaccines are not eligible for those boosters at the Carol Stream event.
