Candy industry film featuring Dist. 21 board member airs Sunday

A documentary about a Chicago candy company and a longtime Northwest suburban school board member's role in it will be rebroadcast Sunday on WTTW.

"Shelf Life: The Story of Lanzi Candy," airs at 4 p.m. on Channel 11.

Arlen Gould, an Arlington Heights resident who has served on the Wheeling Township Elementary District 21 school board since 1993, was among those interviewed for the documentary. Gould and business partner Larry Zaslavsky purchased Lanzi Candy Co. from founder Elmo Lanzi in 1972.
