Lake County hires architect to design regional emergency center

Design of a $35 million consolidated regional emergency center at Lake County's government campus in Libertyville is proceeding.

The county board on Tuesday approved a $1.6 million contract with Wold Architects and Engineers of Palatine for a hybrid center to consolidate several local 911 call centers, the Lake County Emergency Operations Center and the Lake County Emergency Telephone System Board services.

The contract includes services to include the development of biddable construction drawings. The design is scheduled to be complete at the end of 2022.
