River Trails District 26 seeking applicants for board vacancy

Daily Herald report

Mount Prospect-based River Trails Elementary School District 26 is looking for applicants to fill a vacancy on its board of education created by last week's resignation of Samuel Bae.

The person chosen will fill the remainder of Bae's term, which ends in April 2023. Bae first was appointed to the school board in 2017 then elected to a four-year term in 2019.

"We appreciate Sam's years of service to the district and our community," board President William Grimpe said in a news release. "While his presence on the board will be missed, we look forward to finding another qualified and dedicated community member to fill the vacancy for the remainder of the term."

Applications for the vacancy may be obtained at the district's administrative office, 1900 E. Kensington Road, Mount Prospect, and on the district website, www.rtsd26.org. Applications will be accepted until 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 15.

The board will contact individual candidates for interviews. At the conclusion of the interviewing process, a candidate will be selected for the appointment.

For more information, contact Patty Reyes at (224) 612-7301 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
