Victim of Waukegan shooting identified

Authorities have identified a Waukegan man who died in a Monday morning shooting.

Waukegan police responded to a report of shots fired about 5 a.m. at a gas station on the 2100 block of North Green Bay Road.


Authorities said Javier Alcantara, 25, was found dead in the driver's seat of a 2014 Chrysler 300. The autopsy showed he died from multiple gunshot wounds, according to the Lake County coroner's office.

The shooting remains under investigation.
