Hoffman Estates named 'Municipality of the Year' by Real Estate Journal

Hoffman Estates recently was honored as Municipality of the Year by the Illinois Real Estate Journal.

The award recognizes the economic progress in the village during the past year. Major projects include the Bell Works "metroburb" redevelopment of the former AT&T campus and a new 200,000-square-foot Microsoft data center in development on Lakewood Boulevard.

Other projects included new gas stations and convenience stores in the Barrington Square Town Center and Hoffman Village Shopping Center and the addition of Burlington and Dollar Tree in the Prairie Stone Crossing Shopping Center in the 59-90 Entertainment District.

The village also was recognized for its participation in local development organizations. Hoffman Estates was selected from a group of four finalist communities by a panel of real estate professionals.
