The DuPage County Board has awarded one-year contracts totaling $220,000 to hire three lobbying firms.

Board members on Tuesday agreed to spend $90,000 to retain Roger C. Marquardt & Co., a Wheaton-based firm representing the county's interests before state lawmakers in Springfield. The contract with Marquardt begins Sept. 15, and ends Sept. 14, 2022.

A second state lobbyist, Park-Ridge-based Raucci & Sullivan Strategies, will be paid $50,000 for the period starting Sept. 1, through Aug. 31, 2022.

The third firm, BGR Government Affairs, has pushed the county's agenda at the federal level since 2009. Under its contract, BGR Government Affairs will be paid $80,000 to represent the county between Sept. 1, and Aug. 31, 2022.
