New round of vaccination lottery winners announced

Residents in Arlington Heights, Aurora, Hanover Park and Mundelein were among 22 Illinoisans who won $100,000 through the state's vaccination lottery.

Gov. J.B. Pritzker announced the hometowns and home counties of the adult winners Friday, a day after they were notified by Illinois Department of Public Health officials.

In the region that contains DuPage and Kane counties, winners were from Aurora and Hanover Park.

Winners from the region with Lake and McHenry counties were from Mundelein and Lake County.

In Region 7, which is made up of Will and Kankakee counties, the winners were residents of Joliet and Plainfield, according to the governor's release.

Younger residents under the age of 17 are eligible for $150,000 scholarships. Those drawings will be held Aug. 26.

Three more $100,000 winners will be announced Monday, and then two $1 million winners will be chosen Aug. 26. To be automatically registered for the $1 million lottery, residents have to receive their first dose by Aug. 18, state officials said.
