Route 60 resurfacing work to start Monday

Resurfacing of Townline Road (Route 60) from east of the Des Plaines River to Riverwoods Road in Mettawa will require daytime lane closures beginning, weather permitting, on Monday, the Illinois Department of Transportation has announced.

The project, which also includes replacing deteriorated curbs and installing new pavement markings, is expected to be completed in late November. Access to residences and businesses within the work zone will be maintained throughout construction.

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
