DuPage residents have a chance to weigh in on redistricting

DuPage County officials are seeking input on a once-in-a-decade process to redraw boundaries for the six districts that county board members represent.

The board's redistricting committee will hold an open house next week to gather public feedback on existing district maps.

The open house is 4 to 6 p.m. Aug. 18 in the auditorium of the 421 JTK Administration building at 421 N. County Farm Road, Wheaton.

Residents will be able to fill out forms to provide their comments. They can also submit comments online at dupageco.org/RedistrictingFeedback.

The board committee will incorporate 2020 census data and resident feedback when creating new reapportionment maps, which also will be made available for additional feedback.

Three county board members currently represent each district. All 18 board seats will be up for election in 2022 because of redistricting.
