Route 62 bridge work in Algonquin

Cleaning and painting of the Algonquin Road (Route 62) bridge over the Fox River, in Algonquin, will begin, weather permitting, Monday, Aug. 16, the Illinois Department of Transportation said in a news release.

Motorists should expect intermittent daytime lane closures at the bridge. At least one lane in each direction will remain open at all time. The work is expected to be complete in mid-September, according to the release.

Motorists can expect occasional delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
