Naperville reinstating mask mandate in city buildings

In response to updated guidance from local and national health authorities, Naperville has reinstated a mask requirement for all visitors to city buildings regardless of vaccination status.

Participants in board and commission meetings, as well as those using Naperville's public meeting rooms, will be allowed to remove their face coverings once seated if they are vaccinated and able to maintain a distance of 6 feet from others, city officials said in a news release.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have advised that masks be worn in public indoor settings in areas of substantial or high transmission. As of Monday, DuPage and Will counties were both categorized as substantial, city officials said.
