Masking required in Lake County government buildings

Starting Monday, face coverings will be required in all Lake County government buildings for both vaccinated and unvaccinated people.

The move is in alignment with actions taken by the federal government and the state of Illinois, which recently began requiring masks in government buildings.

The COVID-19 delta variant is expected to become the most dominant and is shown to be more contagious and spread more easily than other variants. Recent evidence suggests that a small number of fully vaccinated people who become infected with the delta variant may be able to infect others.
