Wheeling police hosting pet vaccine clinic Saturday

The Wheeling Police Department, in cooperation with the Chicago Wolves, Heartland Animal Shelter and Reign Total Body Fuel, will host a free drive-through pet clinic from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

The event will take place at the police station, 1 Community Blvd. in Wheeling. The first 500 pets to come through will be vaccinated and chipped at no cost. Vaccines include canine kennel cough, rabies and the 5 in 1 booster combo.

"We are always looking for ways to give back to the community, especially if we can help by ensuring a pet is vaccinated," Police Chief James J. Dunne said in an announcement of the event. "This event hopefully will help ease the burden of those that have to choose between spending on themselves or their pets.
