No injuries reported after Monday night house fire in Carpentersville

No injuries were reported after fire broke out Monday night at a home in Carpentersville, authorities said.

Carpentersville firefighters called at about 9:18 p.m. to 2000 block of Cardiff Circle arrived to find smoke and flames visible from the single-family home, Chief John-Paul Schilling said.

It took firefighters 15 minutes to extinguish the fire, which was contained to the attached garage, Schilling said. Firefighters remained on the scene for approximately two hours.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, Schilling added.

No damage estimate is available, but the house was rendered uninhabitable.
