Carol Stream District 93 OKs new contract with teachers union

Carol Stream Elementary District 93 has approved a new three-year contract with its teachers union.

Licensed staff will receive salary increases of 2.4% in the first year of the pact, 2.5% in the second year and 2.6% in the final year. Those raises include step increases based on a teacher's longevity in the district.

The contract concludes at the end of June 2024.

The Carol Stream Education Association ratified the agreement last week. The school board also has unanimously approved the contract.

Under the terms, teachers, social workers, speech and language pathologists and other licensed staff will continue to dedicate 75 minutes after school one day per week to professional development.
