Park Ridge school gets new assistant principal

A new assistant principal has been hired at Franklin Elementary School in Park Ridge.

The Park Ridge-Niles Elementary District 64 school board has tapped Margaret Burke for the job, officials announced in a news release Friday.

The position is being vacated by Kristin Williams, who is being promoted to principal at Franklin.

Burke, a 2021 Illinois Golden Apple finalist, has worked at Middleton Elementary School in Skokie since 2015. She previously taught at the East Chicago Lighthouse Charter School in Indiana.

Burke will begin at Franklin on July 27.
