Sex offender charged with stalking girls in Batavia

A 29-year-old registered sex offender has been charged with felony stalking of two juvenile girls on the east side of Batavia's downtown, police announced Tuesday in a news release.

Blayre A. Nash of Batavia was charged Tuesday with four counts of felony stalking and two counts of misdemeanor disorderly conduct.

Nash, of the 300 block of Walnut Street, is being held in the Kane County jail on $75,000 bond with a court date of June 23 scheduled, records show.

According to DuPage County court records, Nash was convicted in 2012 of sexual abuse of a minor age 9 to 16. Nash's victim was 13 years old and he was 18.

On Friday, two juvenile girls reported to police that they were being followed by a man in a red four-door sedan who later got out of the car and followed them on foot, the release stated.

The girls told him to leave them alone, stop following them and that they were underage, the release stated.

Eventually, they called 911 after being followed from multiple stores and for several blocks, the release stated.

When police responded, they found Nash walking north behind the girls and within 30 feet of them in the 300 block of North River Street, the release stated.

The girls were yelling at him to leave them alone when police arrived, the release stated.
