Saint Viator offering COVID-19 vaccines June 10

Saint Viator High School in Arlington Heights will host a drive-through COVID-19 vaccination site from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 10.

The site, 1213 E. Oakton St., will provide first doses of the Pfizer vaccine to those 12 and older. Registration is required and those under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

"We are extremely pleased to have been selected by the (Illinois Department of Public Health) and (Illinois Emergency Management Agency) to serve local families," school nurse Pamela Kelly said in an announcement of the event. "We have been working closely with them and other health agencies to make vaccines available to our community."

Registration is now open at https://bit.ly/3uuHimk. For those who receive their first dose at the school, second doses will be scheduled for the same site from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. July 1.

Kelly and school officials are encouraging all eligible Saint Viator students to receive the vaccine, but there will be no specific requirement to do so for the 2021-22 school year.
