Lombard man pleads not guilty in stabbing death

A 56-year-old Lombard man has pleaded not guilty to charges related to the April stabbing death of a 28-year-old man.

Ronald Dunbar has been charged with first-degree murder in the stabbing of Karl Bomba of Yorkville on April 10 outside the Spring Inn bar in Elmhurst.

Dunbar entered his not guilty plea during a Thursday hearing. His attorneys have said they will argue self-defense.

Also on Thursday, Dunbar's request to have his truck returned to him was granted, but he will not yet get his cellphone back. Both have been held in evidence by Elmhurst police.

Dunbar is scheduled to appear in court Aug. 5 for a status hearing. He is out on bail.
